Since 2019, there have been significant changes to the behavioral health crisis services landscape nationwide, including the launch of 988, the three-digit behavioral health crisis hotline in 2022; expansion of federal and state investments to support behavioral health crisis services2; and the publication of SAMHSA’s National Guidelines for a Behavioral Health Coordinated System of Crisis Care. The purpose of this report is to understand how these significant investments have impacted the use and functionality of the 2019 TTI-funded behavioral health crisis service registries during this five-year period.
