New Profile Report: Mobile Crisis Teams (MCTs)
Mobile Crisis Teams (MCTs) are a critical component of the behavioral health crisis care continuum as they are designed to enable the crisis team to meet face-to-face with an individual experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
With major support from SAMHSA and other federal agencies, State Mental Health Agencies (SMHAs) are greatly expanding the availability of MCT services. For the 50 states reporting data in both 2023 and 2024, there was an increase of 301 non-child specialized MCTs operating in 2024 compared to 2023 (a 17 percent increase).
